Three-Class Series:
Tuesday June 16, 2026: 6:30pm to 7:30pm
Tuesday June 23, 2026: 6:30pm to 7:30pm
Tuesday June 30, 2026: 6:30pm to 7:30pm
Qigong (pronounced CHEE-gung) is an ancient Chinese health system that, when practiced regularly, can result in numerous physical, mental, and spiritual benefits, including regulation of blood pressure and lipids, strengthened immunity, mental calmness and clarity, increased vitality, and a deeper sense of connection to nature, oneself, and others.
In this three-part program, you will learn about and experience three important components of effective Qigong practice: movement, breath, and intention.
You will discover how to work with these three components to maintain balance and harmony of mind, body and spirit.
In addition to the focused topic, every class will include a grounding meditation and introduce a few Qigong movements that you can learn and do at home.
Completion of the series will set you on a course to make Qigong a regular part of your health maintenance routine.
Class 1: Movement.
This series begins by discussing the energy fields and channels (a.k.a., meridians) of the body and how Qigong movements, or postures, connect our bodies to the energies of Earth and Heaven, activate our own inner energy, and direct our attention to influence the Qi field.
Class 2: Breath.
In this class, we’ll focus on the importance of regulating our breath to signal the body to relax. We’ll experience a few different breathing exercises. Discover which ones may be most useful to you!
Class 3: Intention.
The human mind is a powerful tool. It is said, “Where the mind goes, the qi flows.” Where and how we set our intention for practice is critical to the effectiveness of Qigong. We’ll use guided meditations and visualizations to experience how focusing our attention on our own healing can have a profound effect on our wellbeing.
Set aside your concerns about whether you’ll be able to do the exercises! Qigong movements in this course are slow, gentle, and accessible to everyone, regardless of the level of physical ability.
