Qi Gong is a meditative movement practice that stems from Chinese Medicine. It works with the organ systems and meridian lines of the body, supporting overall balance and flow, and with the 5 elements of nature to remind us that we, too, are nature bodies.
It aims to soften the organ body to help prevent dis-ease and support overall well-being. Through gentle, flowing movements and rotations, Qi Gong helps lubricate the joints, muscles, and connective tissues - increasing synovial fluid circulation and easing movement. It acts almost like a “hydraulic” system within the body, reducing friction, increasing flexibility, and creating a sense of fluidity.
This practice also strengthens our vital qi - our life force - supporting well-being on a mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual level. This is a very beginner-friendly class, done mostly standing. You’re welcome to bring a mat, or practice with your feet directly on the earth if that feels best for you.
We may begin or end with a short seated or lying meditation, so come prepared in whatever way will support your comfort. And truly… one of the best ways to experience Qi Gong is outside, in the elements. This setting offers a beautiful backdrop to connect, move, and breathe with nature. We invite you to arrive early to explore the gardens - it’s truly a worthwhile adventure. The gardens will be closed after our session, which is why we encourage you to come a bit early and take it all in (tickets to wander the garden are available at the gate).
Every other week on Thursdays through summer months - alternating with sound healing + yoga Nidra.
