The Quad Cities are bursting with history! Join us for a tour of local cultural and historical institutions and organizations to learn about the region's storied past.
We will visit the Hauberg Estate for this Q-C History Hop. The beautiful Hauberg Estate has been a cultural and architectural icon in the Quad Cities for over a century. Architecturally significant, the mansion was designed by Robert Spencer and Horace Powers with a rich Prairie Style interior. Interior and furniture design were crafted by George Mann Niedecken. Noted landscape architect Jens Jensen artfully designed the grounds. Add to that, the fascinating and philanthropic Hauberg family.
It is this distinctive blend of history, architecture, interior artistry, landscape design, and community engagement — modeled so beautifully by the Hauberg family — that inspired the formation of the Friends of Hauberg Civic Center Foundation.
We will meet at the Hauberg Estate at 3:00 pm.
This is an off-site tour at 1300 24th Street, Rock Island, IL, 61201. This is a partially outdoor event and is subject to change due to weather. Please visit our website or check our social media pages should inclement weather arise
