Qavavau Manumie: A Place and Time to Become Wise
Born in Brandon, Manitoba, in 1958 and raised in Kinngait (formerly Cape Dorset), Nunavut, Qavavau Manumie is recognized as one of the most accomplished Inuit artists of his generation. Best known internationally for his printmaking, he is equally celebrated for his imaginative ink and pencil drawings, distinguished by their originality, humor, and inventive storytelling.
Bringing together original drawings spanning the past two decades of the artist's career, A Place and Time to Become Wise marks Manumie's first solo exhibition with Rivalry Projects.
The exhibition is organized in collaboration with Trotter&Sholer, New York, and Dorset Fine Arts, Toronto.
