This week we’re joined by president of Great Britain Hockey, Sheila Morrow OBE. Sheila began her presidency in 2017. During her field hockey career, Sheila played for the Wales women’s national field hockey team between 1967 and 1984 and for Great Britain between 1978 and 1983, captaining both from 1980 - 82. After playing in over 100 matches for Wales and 24 for GB, Sheila umpired international field hockey matches before becoming a Grade 1 technical official for the International Hockey Federation. Whilst with the FIHfrom 2004 to 2017, Sheila was a judge in the women's field hockey events at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing and the 2012 Summer Olympics in London and was Tournament Director for women’s hockey at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Before starting her non-executive position with Great Britain Hockey, Sheila worked at the Sports Council for Wales (1984-91) and Sport England (1991-2004). She was inducted into the Welsh Sports Hall of Fame in 1990 and was awarded an OBE for services to Welsh Hockey in the 2019 Queens Birthday Honours.
