We are delighted to announce that our precious Abbot, Choje Lama Yeshe Losal Rinpoche, will be visiting Samye Dzong Cardiff on Sat 20 & Sun 21 July.Over the weekend Lama Yeshe Rinpoche will bestow refuge to those wishing to become a Buddhist by taking refuge in the Buddha, the Dharma and the Sangha. There will be an explanation of what it means to take refuge and what to expect in the ceremony, and there will also be an opportunity for those wishing to take precepts, or wish to renew their precepts.

The Timetable for the Weekend:
Saturday 20 July
10:00 AM to 12.30pm – Mind Training as a Way of Life – With Lama Zangmo
Using the text The Great Path of Awakening, Lama Zangmo will give instructions in meditation and the mindset of awakening, with emphasis on using the mind training practice to meet ordinary life situations with intelligence and loving kindness. due to the visit of Lama Yeshe Rinpoche on the same weekend Lama Zangmo's course will now run over 2 mornings. Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st
11am Tea Break
11.30am 2nd session Mind Training as a Way of Life – With Lama Zangmo
12.30pm Lunch Break
2.15pm: Question & Answer Session with Lama Yeshe Losal Rinpoche – Feel free to ask Rinpoche questions about meditation and Dharma practice. At the end of the session there is an opportunity to offer a katta (white scarf) to Rinpoche and receive a blessing cord.
3.30 PM - Children's Blessing – A meeting with Lama Yeshe Rinpoche where the children receive a blessing. We encourage the children to bring a little gift for Rinpoche, such as a drawing they have made or a piece of fruit or anything else they may like to offer him. We will all then follow Rinpoche to the mosaic wall where everyone can put their tile on the wall.

10:00 AM -Women in Dharma - With Gelongma Ani Lhamo
A talk on the role of Lamas, Gurus and Lineage in Tibetan Buddhism and the role of faith and trust. This will include some inspiring stories from the lives of our teachers, Akong Tulku Rinpoche and Lama Yeshe Rinpoche, as well as a little about the history of Samye Ling and our organisation.

2pm Explanation of Taking Refuge - With Gelongma Ani Lhamo
This talk will be an explanation of what it means to take refuge and what the refuge ceremony entails, as well as the meaning of taking precepts.The genuine sources of spiritual refuge are the Three Jewels: the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. The ultimate refuge is our own mind, our Buddhanature. There will be time for Q&A at the end of the talk.
2:30 PM - Refuge Ceremony - With Lama Yeshe Losal Rinpoche
The first formal step on the Buddhist path is taking refuge in the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha, and Lama Yeshe Rinpoche will give refuge to those who wish to become Buddhists. The ceremony is also open to those who wish to simply renew and strengthen their refuge vow or who wish to take precepts.
We very much look forward to welcoming Lama Yeshe Rinpoche again in Kagyu Samye Dzong Cardiff and we hope you will be able to join us at the event. Save the date!
There is no charge for our courses and teachings, but donations to help cover the costs of running the centre are very welcome.
