About this Event
Join gardening geeks and men who are curious about gardening in this kick-off garden tour and talk about incorporating native plants in your spring garden planning and the benefits they provide for native birds, pollinators, saving water & the cost of inputs like fertilizer & pest/disease management. Native plants tend to be much hardier than non-native plants & better adapted to the climate and soils of the Berkshires. They also require much less maintenance, making them ideal for gardeners who are short on time.
ABOUT THE Q-MOB GARDENING GROUP
We hope members of the Q-MoB Gardening Group will host garden gatherings once or twice a month at your home garden (even very modest gardens that are a work-in-progress) or another garden you love, and that every gathering may include
- a brief talk about the hosts current focus in their garden or a topic they want the group to learn about,
- the opportunity to learn by doing in the host's garden,
- time for sharing snacks, beverages, & conversation about each person's garden plans, questions, and next steps.
IMPORTANT: BEGINNER'S WELCOME TO HOST. The Gardening Group can only continue if men are willing to host gatherings every month, so we want men who have a small, modest garden, or who have just started their gardening adventure to feel as welcome to host as more experienced gardeners. The important thing is bringing the group together to learn from one another regularly, not how fabulous your garden is or how much you know. If you don't have a garden but have a garden you love, you could host a tour of
