Q-MoB Brand New Year Heart Circle & Potluck (Great Barrington, MA)

Join us for a heart circle where we can reflect on what we're letting go of from the old year, what we are grateful for in the New Year, and some of our hopes and intentions. We will do so in the format of a Heart Circle, an ancient, simple tool for cultivating connection through non-judgmental group sharing and active listening, in a safe and intentionally open environment.

We will spend a few minutes discussing the concept of heart circles, so no previous experience is necessary. The only requirement is an open heart. After some time for arrrive, we will begin the circle, to be followed by potluck supper. Please bring a dish & beverage to share. We ask that you arrive by 4pm for the circle. No one should feel pressured to share. Space is limited, so please register and let us know if you later realize you cannot attend.

DIRECTIONS/PARKING: Drive to the end of Pleasant St and you will deadend into the parking area for this house, but please park on the street. Unfortunately the house number is not visible from the street, but there is a photo of the house in this event registration page so you will recognize it.

WHAT TO BRING:

• Bring $10-$20 Tax Deductible Donation payable online or in cash or check made out to "BSCC" (Q-MoB's Non-Profit 501(c)3 Fiscal Sponsor) to support Q-MoB's more than 25 social, recreation/wellness, & arts/culture activities every month and resources and services for rural queer men in the parts of 8 counties in 4 states that make up the Greater Berkshire Region. IMPORTANT: If you don't want to donate for every Q-MoB event you attend, you can instead become a monthly donor member for $25, $50, $75, $100 or more tax-deductible MONTHLY donation, and then you don't have to donate at Q-MoB events you attend
• Bring a dish &/or nice beverage(s) to share with about 6 other people.
• Please make a small sign for your dish that discloses if it contains any of these common allergens/restrictions: dairy, gluten, eggs, meat/chicken/fish, nuts/peanuts, MSG, preservatives, food colors, alcohol, caffeine, sugar, soy, vegan, vegetarian, paleo, etc.
• Bring a fleece, sweater, light jacket, and a raincoat, just in case the weather changes in unexpected ways, as we may go for a winter walk along the famous River Walk in Great Barrington

ALCOHOL POLICY: All potlucks are open to men 18 & older, and if anyone under 21 attends, we will card everyone who wants to drink alcohol and obviously not serve alchohol to anyone under 21, and we remind everyone it is a crime to give alcohol to someone younger than 21 and for someone under 21 to use alcohol. Q-MoB takes its commitment to preventing underage drinking very seriously. Men under 18 are not permitted at any Q-MoB event unless they have parental consent and this consent has been verified by Q-MoB.

CARPOOLING/RIDE-SHARE: Carpooling is a great way to get to know other men, save money on gas, and help to reduce your carbon footprint and save the planet. If you need a ride or are open to carpooling with men who live near you, please indicate that when you are registering, & our ride coordinator will try to match you with people nearby who are interested in carpooling or offering rides.
