Pūheke - Movement of Flow is a gentle yet powerful dance practice exploring ease and flow in movement. A community workshop open to all levels, Pūheke will guide you through movement patterns inspired by a flowing river, a cascading waterfall and other expressions of flow within te te taiao / the natural world. Pūheke - Movement of Flow offers breathing, somatic and improvisation exercises inspired by the flow of wai and atua wāhine related to different aspects of the water cycle.
Louise Pōtiki Bryant is a New Zealand Arts Laureate, and an award-winning multi-media artist. She weaves Māori contemporary dance, video art, animation and film to create immersive multi-layered performances and artworks. With Pūheke - Movement of Flow, Louise integrates dance and mātauraka Māori to inspire meaningful connections between our tinana (body), whenua (land) and wai (water).
