About this Event
Learn the beautiful art of Pysanky, a Slavic egg-dying tradition.
In this workshop, you will learn the techniques of drawing on a chicken egg, applying melted wax, and using layers of dye to create a one-of-a-kind, multicolored piece of artwork. You will also learn about traditional designs, and incorporating your own art style into your Pysanky. Each participant will get to “write” (draw on and dye) one egg, which you will get to take home with you. All supplies will be provided.
This workshop will be taught by Lynn Taggart, a church member and the artist who created the beautiful pysanky you see in the photos, along with our interim minister Rev. Jenny Rankin.
Children age 9 and up are welcome to participate with an adult.
Space in this workshop is limited, so registration is necessary. There is a minimum of 8 participants needed to run the workshop, and a maximum of 10. There will also be a cost of $20 per person to offset the cost of supplies. You can pay online when you register, or if you prefer, you can use the code PAYATDOOR to skip online payment, and pay via venmo, cash, or check on the day of the workshop.
If there is a large amount of interest, we might be able to hold a second workshop in April. If you are not able to participate at this point but would like to be notified if we open another date, please send an email to [email protected].
