About this Event
Introduction
The Prince William Area Continuum of Care (PWA CoC) is actively seeking volunteers to assist with an annual community outreach event known as the Point in Time (PIT) Count.
Registration will close on Tuesday, 12/31/2024 at 11:30PM
What is the 2025 PIT Count?
The PIT Count is a vital initiative that aims to provide insights into homelessness in our area, raise public awareness about the experiences of those who are homeless, and connect our most vulnerable neighbors with essential services. The PIT Count is completed by conducting surveys with persons actively experiencing unsheltered homelessness throughout the county as well as the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park.
We need your help completing these surveys with persons actively experiencing unsheltered homelessness. Persons experiencing unsheltered homelessness are those sleeping in places not meant for human habitation such as vehicles, abandoned buildings, or anywhere outside. All volunteers will receive training & will be provided supplies and equipment to ensure a safe and successful count. Volunteers will also be paired with a Team Lead who is someone with prior outreach experience.
