Puyallup Watershed Symposium

Get ready - we’re counting down the days to the Puyallup Watershed Symposium at the Pioneer Park Pavilion in Puyallup on December 8, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM! Each year the Symposium brings together the people and organizations doing ecosystem and salmon recovery work in the Puyallup and White River watershed. This year we're asking a question that runs underneath all of it: how is this work impacting the quality of life and otherwise benefitting the people who live here?

After light refreshments and registration starting at 8:30 AM, we’ll kick off the Symposium at 9 AM in small groups to discuss local projects that impact human health and wellbeing and can be woven into Puyallup Watershed Action Plans. While connection and collaboration efforts are at the heart of restoration and recovery work throughout the Puyallup Watershed, there is still important work to do to better understand who is doing what, where opportunities for coordination exist, and where funding and support are most needed. This Symposium provides a valuable opportunity to gather insights from partners like you, strengthen connections across sectors, and help inform future watershed priorities and investments.

After the first session from 9-11 AM, the keynote and first series of speakers will launch at 11 AM, followed by a midday break (catered lunch from 12–1 PM). The remainder of the presentations will run from 1 -4 PM as an extension of the morning discussion to showcase local, community-driven projects. During the presentation sessions, you'll hear firsthand from the lineup of wonderful speakers how innovative research, on-the-ground successes, and new ideas for collaboration all contribute to strengthening and sustaining our watershed. This year, presentations will feature multi-benefit outcomes, integration across various project types, and the integrated nature between health, culture, and community.

To wrap up the day on a high note, join us for a networking hour from 4–5 PM. Enjoy a drink, continue your conversations, and build connections that can spark future action. We can’t wait to see you there as we come together to celebrate, learn, and take action for the Puyallup Watershed!
