Putting Down Roots at HTHQ

Six years ago, Humane Tomorrow moved to 5 acres in Argyle and made it our permanent home, starting with the building of the Glenn and Shirley Hulcher Family Animal Care Center. Now, as we move into our 30th year, we’re putting down roots in a new way; literally.
Join Humane Tomorrow and ARK Earth on Saturday, November 7, as we celebrate Texas Arbor Day and kick off a native landscaping project at HTHQ. Together, we’re creating a safer, more welcoming place for people and dogs, while planting native species that provide food and shelter for pollinators, birds, and other local wildlife.
Come meet the team, hear about the plans, explore nature with our scavenger hunt, and find out how you can help. The project will cost about $20,000, with opportunities to volunteer, support the work, and name special features of the landscape.
We hope you’ll join us as this new chapter takes root!
While you are there:
• 10am: Plant the first tree: a short ceremonial planting led by ARK Earth
• Nature scavenger hunt
• Native plant swap table: bring a healthy, pest-free native plant to exchange – be sure to label it with the plant name!
• Make a plant marker: decorate rock markers for plants going into the HTHQ landscape.
