Putt Putt for Pachyderms

Rhinos have lived on Earth for over 50 million years, but may not survive the next 50. At the beginning of the 20th century, there were 500,000 rhinos in the world, but today, that number has dwindled to less than 30,000. The misinformation that rhino horns have medicinal properties, increases its value on the black market, encouraging criminals to poach rhinos and smuggle their horns for profit. There are five species of rhino that need our dedication and help. Africa is home to the White and Black Rhino while the remaining three – the Sumatran, Javan and Greater One Horned – exist in Asia.
The Los Angeles Zoo Chapter is proud to host the American Association of Zoo Keepers’ (AAZK) Bowling for Rhinos conservation fundraiser by holding a fun mini golf experience at Sherman Oaks Castle Park on October 16th, 2026 from 6 pm. - 9 pm. Zoo Keepers throughout the U.S. and Canada, invite YOU to join us to Putt-Putt for Pachyderms to have fun and raise much needed funds for the conservation of endangered rhinos and their ecosystems!
Since 1990, AAZK has raised over $9 million through Bowling for Rhinos fundraisers, with your Los Angeles chapter raising almost $500,000! Proceeds go to supporting three rhino sanctuaries in Indonesia, Sumatra and Kenya, while also raising community participation with Action for Cheetahs in Kenya. Please visit aazk.org/committee/bowling-for-rhinos/ for more information about the individual conservation organizations that benefit from Bowling for Rhinos. Because Bowling for Rhinos is all volunteer based, 100% of all event proceeds and online donations are sent directly to these in-situ rhino conservation areas!

Become an event sponsor:
Sponsors of cash donations of $50 or more are recognized in our local Gnus newsletter, $150 or more receive additional acknowledgement at the event (logos displayed at the venue) and $350 or more are also added as sponsors on the back of our event T-shirts.
