PUTNAM - Carmel: Sycamore Park Cleanup & Invasive Species Removal

Join local clean water advocates for a clean up and invasive species removal project at Sycamore Park, Long Pond, and Dixon Lake from 8 AM to 12 PM for the 14th Annual Riverkeeper Sweep. This is a rain or shine event.

Volunteers will meet at Sycamore Park, 790 Long Pond Rd. Mahopac, NY 1054, at the pavilion just before the beach. Use the Sycamore Park parking lot. From the parking lot, walk down the paved path toward the beach area.

We recommend that all Sweep volunteers bring a hat, sunscreen, a full reusable water bottle, insect repellent, work gloves and hand sanitizer. Be prepared to keep and eye out for poison ivy that may be mixed in with the brush. We recommend long sleeve shirt and long pants if you plan to participate in the invasive species removal.

This site is suitable for elementary-aged children with adult supervision.
