Purse Power

The Gaston County United Way annually holds Purse Power, a community fundraiser in Gaston County that serves as a Women United’s signature event. Purse Power is a fabulous ladies' night out with a purpose! The event will feature designer purses, a live raffle, and a silent auction.

All event proceeds will support Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library (DPIL) and early childhood literacy. Gaston County United Way has served as the local DPIL affiliate since 2004, partnering with the program to place age-appropriate books in the homes of Gaston County children from birth to age five. Currently, they support more than 1,900 children by providing one book per month for five consecutive years. Their goal is to continue serving the children currently enrolled while expanding their reach to assist even more families with literacy needs.
