Unchavrithi is a traditional practice that involves circumambulating a temple/sacred place by performing Namaaankeerthnam/ Singing Bhajans.
It is a multifaceted act
that blends symbolic representation of gratitude, prosperity, and devotion with the practicalities of offering readily available and meaningful contributions to the ritual and community. Rice is often associated with prosperity and abundance . Offering it signifies gratitude for blessings received and prayers for continued well-being. Pulses, meanwhile, represent nourishment and sustenance, further emphasizing the desire for material and spiritual abundance.
