The City of Oak Ridge Recreation and Parks Department invites four-legged friends and their humans to the Puppy Pool Party on Sunday, Aug. 17, 2025, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Oak Ridge Outdoor Pool, located at 172 Providence Road, across from Oak Ridge High School.
This paw-some event gives dogs a chance to splash and play in one of the largest outdoor pools in the Southeast before it officially closes for the season.
All dogs must be:
- At least six months old and not in heat
- Non-aggressive and leashed when not in the water
- Accompanied by proof of current vaccinations
The entrance fee is $5 per dog, or pet owners may bring a donation of canned or dry dog food to benefit the Oak Ridge Animal Shelter. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pups, so bring baggies!
Children are not allowed in the water for safety reasons. Owners will not be permitted to swim; they can wade in knee-deep water. No one will be allowed in the deep end of the pool, including pups.
The Puppy Pool Party marks the end of the season at the Outdoor Pool. The indoor pool at the Oak Ridge Civic Center, located at 1403 Oak Ridge Turnpike, is open year-round.
