Puppet Meltdown 2024: Pop Goes the Puppet, a Crankie Adventure!

Event Description
"Puppet Meltdown" is back for 2024, and we want to see what you can do. No, really... we're bringing back our puppet marathon workshop/slam, which means if you've always wanted to make a slam piece, this is your chance!

During the afternoon, the talented staff of Sea Beast will offer a workshop where we teach participants how to make a crankie machine. Each participant will create their own original piece and then present their new work that evening in the Puppet Meltdown Puppet Slam. So whether you're a seasoned puppet professional or want to try puppetry for the first time, this is a great opportunity to create in a space with other artists and see your creativity come to life.

Thanks to a generous grant from the Puppet Slam Network, we are able to offer the puppet-making class at a very generous discount, but space is limited. So, reserve your spot now, and don't forget to tell all your friends to get tickets to the slam that evening so they can see your show in action.

Both the workshop and show are for adults and pieces may contain adult subject matter including but not limited to adult language, sexual content, violence, and drug use. This is also a socially all inclusive event and hate speech of any kind will not be welcome.

What's the Schedule?

• 12 noon - 5pm: Workshop
• 5pm - 6:30pm: Dinner break/tech
• 6:30pm: House opens
• 7pm - 8:30pm: Show!!!!!!!
• 8:30pm - 9/10pm: Mingle, drink

What does my workshop ticket include?
Your workshop fee covers your class registration, all workshop building materials, as well as snacks during the day. We will provide water, and drinks can be brought in or purchased to from and in support of our venue.

What is a Puppet Slam?
For those of you new to puppet slams, welcome! We're glad you stopped by. Puppet slams are cabarets of short works of puppetry created for an adult audience. That's right! Puppets are for all of us, and these pieces have been made just for you. So join us for a night of art brought to life through the medium of the puppet. It's new, fresh, bold, and experimental. We hope to see you there!
