About this Event

Celebrate the 50th anniversary of punk with an intimate, interactive discussion with some of the most prominent artists and documentarians to capture Toronto's punk history!

Meet:

Ralph Alfonso, founder of Toronto's first punk venue, CRASH N' BURN. Ralph also managed THE DIODES and documented the local scene through his incredible photographs. He later published Treat Me Like Dirt: An Oral History of Punk in Toronto and Beyond by Liz Worth.

Don Pyle, photographer and author of Trouble in the Camera Club, which shares Don's photographic and personal documentation of the early Toronto punk scene. Don's perspective is that of a fan and photographer, as well as a member of bands Crash Kills Five and Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet.

Kire Paputts, filmmaker and documentarian. Kire teamed up with Colin Brunton on The Last Pogo Jumps Again, a sprawling documentary that captures the history of Toronto's first wave scene and the venues and landmarks that made it.

Learn about storied punk venues and what it took to build Toronto's grounbreaking first-wave punk scene.

Moderated by author Liz Worth (Treat Me Like Dirt: An Oral History of Punk in Toronto and Beyond).

Hosted at Kingi Carpenter's famous Peach Berserk silk screen studio! Your entry fee includes refreshments.

Hang out after the talk to silk screen your own Toronto punk-inspired souvenir, which Kingi will teach you how to do.
