Punk 50, is AB’s celebration of fifty years of chaos, freedom and bold expression. We honour the rich past, the vibrant present and the future of punk with exhibitions, films, talks, a ‘zine market and a hard-hitting line-up of international icons, Belgian legends and the new generation of punk musicians.
HYPERDOG
HYPERDOG is a garage punk band from Linz, Austria. With phased-out guitars, eccentric synths, lo-fi drum loops and vocals that evoke the raw energy of 80s hardcore punk, HYPERDOG creates a sound reminiscent of bands like Joy Division and Black Flag, yet remains unmistakably its own.
Spotbust
Spotbust consists of punky skate legends from Leipzig, Germany. They make fast, raw punk with a no-nonsense DIY vibe. Their 2024 album, The Cheapest Way to Die, showcases exactly that energy: raw, direct and full of punk attitude.
Mesher
Mesher is a noise-punk machine from Ghent, forged in the Belgian underground during the lockdowns. With members from Crowd of Chairs, Maze and Youff, the band races through raw, repetitive riffs, tight drumming and pure tension. This is the release party for their new album STRESS SEEKER (on the Brussels label Stadskanker).
