Pumpkin Patch Working Bee

People are hungrier than ever, prices are higher than ever and we want to do our bit, so we’re growing carbohydrates en masse to fill bellies and nourish the wairua of those that are struggling to access kai. We'll be doing this by growing a bumper crop of pumpkins, which will then be given to the Home of Compassion’s Soup Kitchen and other groups feeding the community. Help us to get pumpkins to hungry people and grow urban kai resilience while we're at it!
In September we did that mammoth task of shifting compost and setting up the planting plots. This time, our focus will be on getting the pumpkin plants in the ground. Exciting!
📍 Home of Compassion, Rhine Street, Island Bay
🗓️ Next working bee: Wednesday 28th October, 10am-1pm and then ongoingly on the last Wednesday of the month during Spring and Summer.
