Pumpkin King Art Challenge!

What does Pumpkin King mean to you?
Maybe your Pumpkin King is spooky. Maybe they’re beautiful. Maybe they’re a literal pumpkin wearing a crown. Maybe they’re a creature, a person, a monster, an abstract concept, a tiny crocheted goblin, or something none of us could possibly predict.
You decide who, or what, the Pumpkin King is.
Paint it. Draw it. Sculpt it. Sew it. Carve it. Build it. Collage it. Crochet it. Write it. Photograph it. Make it out of clay, cardboard, yarn, junk, pumpkins, or whatever else your strange little creative heart desires. Any medium. Any style. All ages and skill levels welcome.
You have the month of October to create your masterpiece. Finished pieces must be dropped off at Kestrel Cafe by Friday, November 13th to be included in the show.
Then on Saturday, November 14th from 6-9 PM, we’re throwing a fancy, silly Pumpkin King Art Show to display everybody’s creations, celebrate the artists, and have a good time.
At the end of the night, one artist will be crowned the Pumpkin King of Essex and receive a prize, along with the glory and extremely serious prestige that comes with the title.
Artists can also choose whether they want to put their piece up for auction during the show. Auctioning is completely optional. Want to sell it? Awesome. Want to display your masterpiece and take it home afterward? Also awesome. It’s entirely up to you.
There are no wrong answers to this challenge. We genuinely want to see what happens when a whole bunch of people are given the words PUMPKIN KING and told to make whatever that means to them.
Come make something weird.
