Bring your carved pumpkin to IRRP and watch an illuminated floating pumpkin flotilla!Space is offered on a first-come, first served basis. Pumpkins will be accepted until 5:30pm or until all 35 spots are filled, whichever comes first. Come to the IRRP Blue Shed on the north side of the main grass area to drop-off pumpkins.
Pumpkin Guidelines:
- DO bring a pumpkin that weighs do not exceed 8 pounds after it's carved (approximately the size of a soccer ball).
- DO bring carved, gutted pumpkins with their tops.
- DON'T bring mini or XL pumpkins; they will not fit on the flotilla float.
- DON'T bring pumpkins with artificial decorations, such as paint, glitter, marker, food dye, paper or plastic. They'll pollute the Carey Lake and harm the wildlife.
- DON'T bring light bulbs, candles, or floats. (We will provide these!)
After you drop-off your pumpkin, get a hot cocoa or cider at the picnic shelter, participate in the glowing scavenger hunt, get your face painted, decorate a cookie, then find a spot along the edge of Carey Lake to watch as the jack-o'-lanterns float by. This is Ellensburg's ONLY pumpkin flotilla - and not to be missed!
This event is FREE and open to all ages.
Pumpkin owners may retrieve their carved pumpkins at the conclusion of flotilla round 6:45pm from the drop-off/pick-up station by the IRRP Blue Shed.
