About this Event
In honor of Recovery Month, spend an afternoon in conversation about overdose and the role we can all play in prevention. The event will feature an original stage show, by John Michael Colgin, an expert panel, and education about and demonstration of the life-saving overdose drug Narcan.
Trigger warning: This event will feature conversation as well as depictions of overdose and how to prevent it, along with mention of suidical ideation, bullying, and trauma.
While we honor and respect the need for safe spaces and resting places, this event will incorporate The Brave Space Model of learning. This model encourages intentional vulnerability, exploration of different perspectives, facing fears, critical thinking, examining intentions, and mindfulness. We understand that these topics can be uncomfortable to think and talk about, but we believe that meaningful personal and community growth happens when people lean into their discomfort and are supported in asking questions and learning different perspectives. We hope you join us for this unique and meaningful experience--and you'll bring your friends!
