Pulitzer Electric Aircraft Race

We are thrilled to announce the revival of a legendary aviation event: the Pulitzer Electric Aircraft Race, taking place from October 10–13, 2025, at the Springfield-Beckley Municipal Airport in Springfield, Ohio. This event marks the centennial of the original Pulitzer Trophy Race, celebrating 100 years of aviation innovation .

About the Pulitzer Trophy Race

Originally held from 1920 to 1925, the Pulitzer Trophy Race was a premier event in the National Air Races, showcasing cutting-edge aviation technology and piloting skill. The race spurred advancements in aircraft speed and design, significantly contributing to the evolution of modern aviation .

Introducing the Pulitzer Electric Aircraft Race

Organized by the Advanced Air Mobility Institute, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, and hosted by the National Advanced Air Mobility Center of Excellence, this modern iteration of the race will feature:

• Up to 24 teams flying zero-emission, fully electric aircraft across various categories, including eCTOL, eSTOL, eVTOL, and electric helicopters. A 60-nautical-mile triangular course, with multiple heats determining the fastest cumulative flight time.
• The Future of Electric Flight EXPO, an integrated festival where the public can engage with electric aviation technologies and sustainable transportation solutions.
• STEM engagement initiatives, partnering with educational organizations to inspire the next generation of aviation professionals.
• The prestigious Pulitzer Trophy Award, a dedicated aviation awards ceremony.
