🇫🇷 FRANÇAISPour leur concert d’automne, les Chœurs de l’Union européenne vous proposent un programme en deux parties, au Théâtre Novum, le dimanche 12 octobre 2025 à 17 h.
La première partie, exclusivement instrumentale, mettra à l’honneur l’Ensemble Orchestral de Bruxelles sous la direction de Jacques Vanherenthals, avec la Symphonie n° 5 en si bémol majeur (D.485) de Franz Schubert (1797–1828), composée à l’âge de 19 ans. On y appréciera la richesse mélodique propre à ce compositeur de génie.
La seconde partie, vocale et instrumentale, sera consacrée à la Messa di Gloria de Giacomo Puccini (1858–1924). Cette œuvre, empreinte d’un souffle dramatique proche de l’opéra, est l’une des plus ambitieuses du compositeur en dehors de son répertoire lyrique.
L’Ensemble Orchestral de Bruxelles, les Chœurs de l’Union européenne, ainsi que les solistes Laurens Wyns (ténor) et Shadi Torbey (basse), seront dirigés par Dirk De Moor.

For its autumn concert, the European Union Choir invites you to a two-part programme at the Théâtre Novum on Sunday, 12 October 2025, at 5 p.m.
The first part, purely instrumental, will feature the Ensemble Orchestral de Bruxelles conducted by Jacques Vanherenthals, performing the Symphony No. 5 in B-flat major (D.485) by Franz Schubert (1797–1828), composed when he was just 19. Listeners will enjoy the melodic richness that characterizes this gifted composer.
The second part, both vocal and instrumental, will be devoted to the Messa di Gloria by Giacomo Puccini (1858–1924). This work, imbued with operatic drama, stands as one of the composer’s most ambitious pieces outside his operatic output.
The Ensemble Orchestral de Bruxelles, the European Union Choir, and soloists Laurens Wyns (tenor) and Shadi Torbey (bass), will be conducted by Dirk De Moor.

Voor hun herfstconcert presenteert het Koor van de Europese Unie een tweedelig programma in het Théâtre Novum op zondag 12 oktober 2025 om 17.00 uur.
Het eerste deel, volledig instrumentaal, wordt verzorgd door het Ensemble Orchestral de Bruxelles onder leiding van Jacques Vanherenthals, met de Symfonie nr. 5 in Bes majeur (D.485) van Franz Schubert (1797–1828), geschreven toen de componist slechts 19 was.
Het werk getuigt van de melodische rijkdom van deze muzikale meester.
Het tweede deel, vocaal en instrumentaal, is gewijd aan de Messa di Gloria van Giacomo Puccini (1858–1924). Deze mis, met haar uitgesproken dramatische karakter dat aan opera doet denken, is een van Puccini’s belangrijkste werken buiten zijn operarepertoire.
