Toastmasters é una associazione non-profit nata in America, con lo scopo di aiutare i propri soci ad essere a loro agio nel parlare in pubblico. Il programma Toastmasters ha dimostrato la propria validità in tutto il mondo. Quasi tre milioni di persone di ogni età e professione hanno preso parte al programma. In media il numero complessivo dei soci aumenta al ritmo di 250 persone al giorno, per un totale di oltre 364.000 soci in oltre 16.200 club in più 145 Paesi.

Che cos’è Toastmasters?

Toastmasters International mette a disposizione gli strumenti che consentono di sviluppare la capacità di parlare in pubblico. In Toastmaster si impara facendo, parlando a un gruppo di persone. Si impara in un ambiente gradevole e di condivisione.

Come in palestra, ogni socio si allena con discorsi preparati, improvvisati o dando dei feedback, ricoprendo ruoli per agevolare il buon funzionamento del meeting o per aiutare gli altri soci nel miglioramento continuo.

Una vera e propria palestra dove i soci del club si mettono in gioco con l'obiettivo di migliorare le proprie competenze in comunicazione e leadership, divertendosi.

Toastmasters permette questo: ci alleniamo affrontando un percorso a tappe, affiancati per i primi progetti e ruoli da un Mentore.

Ogni tappa permette di approfondire un aspetto del Public Speaking e della Leadership, andando ad aumentare le competenze trasversali e la sicurezza di sé, incontro dopo incontro!

E il bello è che Toastmasters è un'associazione senza scopo di lucro!

Toastmasters is a non-profit organization born in America with the aim of helping its members feel comfortable when speaking in public. The Toastmasters program has proven its validity worldwide. Nearly three million people of all ages and professions have participated in the program. On average, the total number of members increases at a rate of 250 people per day, for a total of over 364,000 members in more than 16,200 clubs in over 145 countries.

What is Toastmasters?

Toastmasters International provides the tools to develop public speaking skills. In Toastmasters, you learn by doing, speaking in front of a group of people. You learn in a pleasant and supportive environment.

Similar to a gym, each member practices with prepared speeches, impromptu talks, or by providing feedback, taking on roles to facilitate the smooth running of meetings, or helping other members in their continuous improvement. It's a real gym where club members challenge themselves with the goal of enhancing their communication and leadership skills while having fun.

Toastmasters allows for this by following a structured path, supported by mentors for the initial projects and roles. Each stage allows for a deeper exploration of aspects of public speaking and leadership, enhancing cross-cutting skills and self-confidence, meeting after meeting.

And the great thing is that Toastmasters is a non-profit organization!

I tre momenti di un incontro Toastmasters

1) Discorsi preparati, di lunghezza variabile, dei nostri soci che si allenano nel loro percorso formativo. Può essere un breve discorso di auto-presentazione oppure discorsi strutturati della durata massima di 7 minuti.

2) Improvvisazione! Per circa 15 minuti ci alleniamo a uscire dalla zona di comfort improvvisando un discorso di 1/2 minuti sulla base di una domanda o uno spunto che ci viene dato dal palco. Divertente ed adrenalinico!

3) Valutazioni strutturate dei discorsi preparati da parte di soci che danno dei feedback costruttivi agli speaker. Le valutazioni sono il cuore del metodo Toastmasters, perchè tutti noi possiamo apprendere un nostro stile di valutazione e imparare a condividere i propri feedback nella vita professionale e privata con serenità e autenticità.

The three moments of a Toastmasters meeting are as follows:

1) Prepared speeches of varying lengths by our members as they progress in their development journey. These can be brief self-introduction speeches or structured speeches with a maximum duration of 7 minutes.

2) Impromptu speaking! For about 15 minutes, we practice stepping out of our comfort zone by delivering a 1-2 minute speech based on a question or prompt provided from the stage. It's fun and adrenaline-inducing!

3) Structured evaluations of prepared speeches by members who provide constructive feedback to the speakers. Evaluations are at the heart of the Toastmasters method because we can all learn our own evaluation style and learn to share feedback in a calm and authentic manner in our professional and personal lives.

The meeting will start at 7:00 PM and will last for two hours (once the meeting starts, access to the room won't be possible).
