Join the Sea Turtle Conservancy along with our partners, Anna Maria Island Turtle Watch and Hurricane Hanks as we release a satellite tagged loggerhead turtle around 8:00 am near Coquina Beach. **AS WE ARE TAGGING A NESTING TURTLE, WE WILL NOT HAVE THE EXACT LOCATION OF THE RELEASE UNTIL THE NIGHT BEFORE.** Check this page or sign up for our Turtle Release Alert Email list to get the latest update: https://app.e2ma.net/app2/audience/signup/2015345/1750310/ This event is FREE and open to the public, there is no need to formally RSVP.
Our team will begin setting up on the beach around 7 am and you are welcome to stop by before release time to purchase a t-shirt ($25), get an up-close look at the turtle, and ask the turtle team any questions. Just look for the blue tent! We are expecting a VERY large crowd so please be patient and remember there are more turtle release opportunities in Florida this summer!
