About this Event

Public Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) Training-Live on Zoom

Join CMHA-CEI for a free, live virtual Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) suicide prevention training ope to the public. QPR is an evidence-based suicide prevention training designed to teach participants how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to Question, Persuade, and Refer someone to appropriate help. During this interactive 90-minute training, participants will learn:

  • How to recognize warning signs and risk factors for suicide
  • How to ask someone directly about suicide
  • How to persuade someone to seek help
  • How to refer someone to appropriate resources and support

This training will be held live online via Zoom and is not an in-person course. No prior mental health or suicide prevention experience is required.

Participants who complete the full training will receive a QPR Gatekeeper Certificate valid for one year.

This training may also be eligible to count toward continuing education units (CEUs), subject to approval by participant's director or appropriate approving authority.

This training is FREE and open to the public.
