The Town of Black Mountain is advancing the Portmanvilla Area Flood Mitigation Project to reduce flood risks affecting nearby homes, roads, and community infrastructure. The project will evaluate improvements including culvert replacements, streambank stabilization, roadway restoration, and drainage system enhancements to help improve resilience during future storm events. The project focuses on three priority areas near Portmanvilla Road, Davis Drive, 6th Street, and 7th Street.
A public meeting is scheduled for Thur., Nov. 12, 2026 from 4-6pm at Town Hall, 160 Midland Ave., Black Mountain, NC 28711 for citizen input and to ask questions about the project. This meeting is a drop-in event.
