Update: February 11, 2026 - Dominion has changed the name of the proposed transmission line project from North Anna-Kraken Loop project to North Anna to Bristers project. They have also changed their proposed timeline for public input and project submission to the state. They will conduct a second round of community meetings in the second quarter of 2026 with an expected application submission to the State Corporation Commission in the third quarter.
The Stafford County Board of Supervisors has rescheduled a public listening session on the proposed North Anna–Kraken Loop Electric Transmission Project that was canceled due to the January ice and snowstorm. The meeting will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at Colonial Forge High School, located at 550 Courthouse Rd, Stafford, VA 22554.
This session is designed to provide residents with clear information on the regulatory process and to hear directly from the community about concerns related to the project’s potential impacts in Stafford County.
The evening will begin with a presentation in the school auditorium. The presentation will be held twice in the evening to give the public flexibility to attend: first at 6:30 p.m. and then again at 8:00 p.m.
After the presentation, residents are invited to visit interactive stations in the cafeteria, organized by the proposed transmission line segments within Stafford County. Large-scale maps will be on display to help residents identify areas of interest and understand how the proposed project may affect their communities. While the overall project includes seven segments, this session will focus on the five in Stafford County. At each station, County representatives will collect public feedback. This input will be documented and used to inform future County strategies and communications related to the project.
Dominion Energy will not be present at this session, but the County looks forward to continuing to work with Dominion to ensure this project minimizes the adverse impacts to County residents to the extent reasonably practicable. The County has been advised that Dominion will continue to hold separate community meetings as part of its project outreach.
