We’re excited to announce an upcoming Puberty Workshop designed to empower and educate girls age 8-11 (and their moms) about the changes their bodies go through during puberty. Join us Thursday, April 9th at 6 at our office as Dr. Melanie and Dr. Whitney team up with Dr. Jenny Rose and Cherese Lee, RN of Milestone Pediatrics in a safe space for learning, discussing, and asking questions about everything from body care to pelvic health, and everything in between!
Key Topics We’ll Cover:
+ Body Changes: Hormone and growth changes and how these changes affect different areas of the body.
Hygiene Tips: Skincare, deodorant, and bra-wearing basics.
+ Menstruation Prep: What the menstrual cycle is, symptoms you may experience, what is normal vs. not. Period product types, demonstration of use, tips for success.
+ Pelvic Health: Understanding your anatomy and how it affects important bodily functions.
+ Managing Emotions: Breathing exercises and other tips for managing big emotions during puberty.
All daughters will receive a complimentary self-care pack courtesy of Empassion and Milestone and light refreshments will be served! This workshop is a great way to learn more about the natural changes of growing up, and it’s all about creating open, supportive conversations for a healthy, confident transition into puberty. We can’t wait to see you there and start this important conversation!
