We are back with the 9th edition of our popular annual International Women's Day Special Session! With a full female line up, showcasing some of our amazing local female selectors. Lioness Power are a female duo from Leeds, on a heartfelt mission to spread love, peace, and equality for all through the unifying power of Dub and Reggae music. They've burst onto the UK Dub and Reggae scene in the last few years and have mashed up many a dance including Fenton PubDub, Freedom Dub Club, Hull Dub Club, Rootikal Expression Sessions and Subdub.
They've played festivals such as Leeds Carnival, Northern Green Gathering, Beatherder and Eden in Scotland. Recently, they were featured on Jamz Supernova’s Women in Soundsystem segment on BBC Radio 6 Music.

Leeds based selector no.me will be spinning some tunes from all her favourite women in reggae. With roots revival, lovers rock and of course some dancehall flavours for good measure!
Resident box shifter, crew coordinator and selector High Lassie will be playing a range of reggae-infused genres showcasing female talent from production to vocals.
Sis Star bringing her sweet selection of vinyl to uplift and get the dance going.
The Reaction Soundsystem Crew have been putting on dances around the Leeds area for nearly 20 years. The handbuilt Reaction Soundsystem is known throughout the dub scene for crystal clear, hifi quality sound and chest rattling heavyweight bass. The rig has travelled all over the country for festivals, free parties and community centres, with the Reaction DJs providing only positive vibes.
Pubdub launched in 2015, providing low entry-fee dances to Leeds community of bass lovers. It is run by a team of volunteers so proceeds are put back into community causes. The last few years have seen £500 donated to Camfed (Campaign for Female Education). Also £400 donated to support Hyde Park Unity Day.
International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality.
IWD has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people. Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere. IWD is not country, group or organization specific.
