Using the global phenomenon of Wakanda as a starting point, this talk explores how Afrofuturism connects past, present, and future to imagine new possibilities for Black life and creativity.

We’ll journey through key ideas and influences, from the groundbreaking speculative fiction of Octavia Butler to music, film, and visual art that challenge conventional narratives and center Black voices in the future.
