Psychopharmacology:The Impact on Children and Families

This event is in-person and will provide participants with 3 clinical hrs of CEUs. Workshop will be dynamic and interactive, presented by Dr. Johnmyrin Johnson. The learning objectives for this CEU are as follows:

The objectives are as follows:

Participants will be able to analyze how psychotropic medications influence cognitive function, academic performance, and overall learning outcomes for children in the educational system.

Participants will learn to recognize and differentiate between behavioral symptoms associated with mental health disorders and those induced or alleviated by psychopharmacological treatments, equipping them to better support affected children.

Participants will gain skills in creating and implementing comprehensive Medic*tion management plans that promote adherence, address potential side effects, and involve families and educators in the process to enhance compliance.

Participants will evaluate the potential long-term effects of Medic*tion non-compliance in children, including impacts on mental health, educational achievement, and family dynamics, to inform prevention and intervention strategies.

Participants will learn to engage families in discussions about psychopharmacology, emphasizing the importance of communication between healthcare providers, educators, and families to facilitate informed decision-making and holistic support for children.
