Slide guitarist, WWOZ DJ and songwriter Marc Stone has long cultivated a reputation for an eclectic take on blues, funk, and rock with some trippy edges. RootsMusicReport calls his new album “Shining Like A Diamond: a “best of year contender.” He’s performed with everyone from Leo Nocentelli of the Meters to Col. Bruce Hampton and Leftover Salmon, Dr. John, Buckwheat Zydeco and countless Louisiana legends. He is also known for producing epic all star shows in the US and Europe featuring Betty Harris, the Campbell Brothers, Anders Osborne, Walter “Wolfman” Washington, Alvin “Youngblood” Hart, Benny Turner and more.
Stone's number one slide guitar hero and now long-time duo partner John Mooney began his career as a teenager gigging alongside Delta Blues icon Son House, who was a mentor to both Robert Johnson and Muddy Waters. A top international touring artist for many years, Mooney is known as one of the most important and exciting slide guitarists of the modern era, earning the admiration of Bonnie Raitt, Keith Richards and the worldwide Blues community. ��Louisiana born stalwart of the Austin and New Orleans music scenes, Papa Mali’s work both as a solo artist and collaborator with Bill Kreutzman and Robert Hunter as lead singer and songwriter for 7 Walkers has cemented his status as a legend. He has also played with a recent incarnation of Old And In The Way with Peter Rowan and collaborated with nearly everyone on the New Orleans music scene including Cyril Neville and George Porter, Jr.
The Radiators hold the crown as New Orleans longest-running successful rock band, and Camile Baudoin's explosive slide playing has been a prominent part of their sound since the beginning. He is by far the city’s most prominent rock n roll slide guitar player. Revered for their swampy, sometimes earthy and sometimes trippy jams, extensive song list and loyal fan base, the Rads sit among the greats of New Orleans music and toured with the Grateful Dead.
Slide man Will Brown of upstart instrumental space rockers Bakey's Brew will round out the line up with his tasty and unique melodic slide playing.
WookTopia Productions is the brainchild of songwriter and promoter Wyatt Snyder of the band Degenerate Piknik. He aims to prove that there is always room for creative music and that not everyone on Phish tour is a total fucking Chad. �
