Psychedelic Peer Support Workshop Series - Part II
About this Event
You've set the conditions for a safe container — now what happens when things actually get hard?
This is the second session in HCC's three-part peer support training series. Building on Workshop 1's foundations, this session is where theory meets practice: walking through the real range of moments that come up in a group journey — from someone talking or moving around the room, to vomiting, big emotional releases, cuddling, sexual behaviour, spiritual bypass, or a participant trying to leave the space — and learning how to meet each one with steady, trauma-informed presence.
We'll cover:
- A working map of common in-session moments, from the everyday (restlessness, personal questions, washroom breaks) to the more delicate (intense emotion, physical affection, spiritual bypass)
- Trauma-informed principles
- Practical strategies for anxiety, fear, paranoia, and the urge to leave the room
- Scope of practice: the hard lines, what counts as a real emergency versus a hard moment
- Bringing resolution to turbulence as a session winds down, and the basics of integration once it's over
Who it's for: Anyone supporting friends or community members through group psychedelic journeys — whether you attended Workshop 1 or are joining the series partway through.
