Art House Theater Day (AHTD) is an annual program that brings audiences together to celebrate all that art house theaters - and independent film - contribute to our cultural landscape: ambitious and innovative art that provokes, challenges, entertains, and inspires.
Celebrate on July 30th at The Westdale with a special film talk screening of THELMA & LOUISE, as part of our Ride or Die series hosted by film enthusiast Jeffrey Bender!
🎬Celebrating it's 35th Anniversary this year, THELMA & LOUISE is a pop-culture landmark that tells the story of two best friends who find themselves transformed into accidental fugitives during a weekend getaway gone wrong.
Schedule:
7:00pm – Introduction to the film by host Jeffrey Bender
7:15pm – Film screening
9:25pm – Post-film presentation and discussion

👤Jeffrey Bender has hosted a number of in-person and online Film Talks with the Westdale, most recently ‘The Ol’ Razzle-Dazzle: The Evolution of the Movie Musical’, featuring six landmark musicals that changed the way we see and think about song and dance through the cinematic lens. He joins us this summer to host ‘Ride or Die Cinema’, featuring three dynamic pairs of protagonists who find themselves at the centre of cinema’s wildest tales, and who discover loyalty, humour and solace in each other as they struggle against the world.
