About this Event

An Evening of Wonder, Wellness & Cultivation in Hawaiʻi

Join us for the next installment of our 5-part Psychedelic Medicine & Wellness Film Series as we gather for a special screening of Fantastic Fungi, the visually stunning documentary by Louie Schwartzberg. Through breathtaking time-lapse cinematography and insights from leading voices in mycology, the film explores the hidden world beneath our feet—revealing how fungi and mycelial networks support healing, ecological regeneration, and the interconnectedness of all life.

Following the film, we are honored to welcome a special guest speaker from our local Hawaiʻi community who will share insights on mushroom cultivation in Hawaiʻi, including the unique environmental conditions of the islands, sustainable growing practices, and the role fungi can play in wellness, education, and community resilience.

This evening will offer space to explore:

  • the science and wonder of fungi
  • the relationship between mushrooms, healing, and ecosystem health
  • cultivation practices in Hawaiʻi’s unique climate
  • the growing conversation around fungi in wellness and consciousness work

The night will close with an interactive community discussion and Q&A, inviting curiosity, learning, and connection.

Post-Film Community Dialogue

Following the film, we will hold a facilitated discussion that bridges lived experience and professional insight. We are honored to welcome a local Hawaiʻi cultivator who will share his first-hand experience with mushroom cultivation in Hawaiʻi and the deeper personal relationship this work has created in his life.

Through his lived experience, he will speak about the unique process of cultivating mushrooms in Hawaiʻi’s environment, the responsibility and respect involved in working with these medicines, and how this practice has deepened his connection to nature, community, and personal wellness. His story highlights how cultivation can become more than a practice—it can become a relationship rooted in mindfulness, stewardship, and healing.

Together, we will explore:

  • mushroom cultivation in Hawaiʻi’s unique climate
  • sustainable and intentional growing practices
  • the relationship between fungi, wellness, and ecosystem health
  • how working with nature can deepen connection to self and others
  • the growing conversation around mushrooms in healing and consciousness work

The evening will close with an interactive community discussion and Q&A, creating space for curiosity, reflection, and meaningful connection.

Clinical & Medical Perspectives

We will also hear from a small panel of psychedelic-assisted psychotherapists who have supported individuals before and after psychedelic medicine experiences.

The evening will close with an open Q&A, offering space for thoughtful questions, reflections, and curiosities. This is an opportunity to engage directly with:
