PSYC Career Chats 2026
About this Event
Whether you're considering graduate school, co-op, research, or other career pathways, PSYC Career Chats is a great opportunity to learn from Psychology alumni, current students, and faculty members about their experiences and career journeys.
Join us for an afternoon of career exploration, networking, and refreshments in a relaxing and informal setting! All PSYC/COGS/BNS students and recent alumni are welcome.
Students will have a chance to:
- Hear from PSYC alumni, professors, graduate students, and co-op students about career and post-graduation pathways
- Enjoy free appetizers and refreshments
- Chat with Arts Co-op Coordinator Komal Handa about how to get involved with co-op
- Connect with other like-minded PSYC students
- Enter a draw to win PSYC prizes
Time: 2:30pm to 4:00pm
Date: Tuesday June 16th, 2026
Location: RCB 6152 (Robert C. Hall, past Images Theatre)
Tentative Schedule:
- 2:30: Opening
- 2:30-3:30pm: Panel Discussion with Alumni (featuring speakers in research, graduate programs, co-op, etc)
- 3:30pm - 4:00pm: Open style networking

- Dr. Adele Quigley-McBride (Director of the Psychology of Investigations & Evidence Lab, Assistant Professor in Law & Psychology)
- Shae Sackman (Psychology Master's student in History, Quantitative, and Theoretical Psychology)
- Shina Kaur (Founder & CEO of ShinaSpark, completed previous co-ops at SFU Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and Penascola State College, Psychology alumni)
- Justine Bayer (Psychology undergraduate student & Program Coordinator (co-op) at ICBC)
- Komal Handa (Co-op Coordinator, SFU Arts Co-op)
