About this Event
Killiney Bay Surf Club Presents: Proximity (2017)
Screening Date: Sunday, September 6th | Venue: Dún Laoghaire LexIcon Library
Join Killiney Bay Surf Club, in association with Irish Surfing, at the Dún Laoghaire LexIcon Library on Sunday, September 6th, for a special screening of Proximity, directed by legendary filmmaker Taylor Steele. Screening permission for this event has been provided by Teton Gravity Research (TGR) and Garage Productions.
Proximity pairs four generations of world-class surfers—combining iconic legends with modern innovators—to explore the deep connection, shared wisdom, and raw passion that define wave riding. Featuring Kelly Slater, John John Florence, Rob Machado, Craig Anderson, Stephanie Gilmore, Dave Rastovich, Shane Dorian, and Albee Layer, the film journeys to remote lineups around the globe, from the icy waters of Japan to untouched Pacific reefs.
Beyond high-performance surfing, the film offers intimate conversations on aging, legacy, and a life shaped by the ocean.
Come along, connect with the local surf community, and enjoy an unforgettable evening on the big screen!
