For most of human history, art was not something we watched. It was something we entered. A place where communities gathered to investigate what it means to be human.

The ancient Greek theatre was not built around spectatorship. At its center stood the Thymele, a sacred point around which the community assembled. Surrounding it was the Orchestra, the circular ground where the Chorus gathered, not as passive observers, but as active participants in a shared inquiry.
Before theatre became entertainment, before audiences became consumers, people gathered in circles to investigate the questions that shape our experiences as human beings. Through story, movement, sound, and collective inquiry, they rehearsed their relationship to one another, to society, to nature, and to the unknown. 
PROVA Inspired by this gemoetry of space and the Greek Chorus, Peter Brook's Empty Space, Grotowski's Poor Theatre, contemporary participatory performance, and ritual practice.
We ask a simple question:

What if art is not something we consume, but a world we explore together?

This is not a class.....It is not therapy.....It is not a networking event.....It is not a retreat....It is a temporary assembly. A Playful Creative gathering of people willing to investigate the structures, stories, roles, and assumptions that shape their experience of being alive, and transform it into something new.

Contribution

PROVA is offered on a sliding-scale, donation-based model.

Suggested contribution: $88–$370

Your contribution helps support:

• Studio rental and operational costs
• Workshop materials
• Documentation and filming of the process
• The continued development of Vessel and future gatherings

We recognize that people arrive with different financial realities. We do not want finances to be the reason someone cannot participate in the work.

Scholarships and reduced - cost participation are available.

If cost is a barrier, please let us know in your application. No additional explanation is required.

We ask participants to contribute at the highest level that is genuinely sustainable for them. Those who are able to contribute more help make it possible for others to attend.

PROVA is an experiment in collective creation, and we approach its financial structure in the same spirit: with trust, reciprocity, and shared responsibility.
