Protective Habitat Fencing at Forest Wood Wildlife Reserve

Spend the day with James, our Natural Heritage Officer at Forest Wood Wildlife Reserve. We will be installing a fence in the Scottish Wildlife Trust reserve to enclose our newly planted yellow rattle field. Learn the principles of stock fence installation and meadow creation.

James will be on hand to answer any questions about reserve managment, volunteer opportunities and local wildlife.

A chance to meet the local community, enjoy some fresh air whilst helping Cumbernauld's wildlife thrive. All support is greatly appreciated!

There will be a variety of tasks for you to get involved in, however all will be relativly physical and will require a basic level of fitness. The site we will be working on will be a 15 minute walk from the meeting point.

Some areas are relativly wet, so walking boots, wellies or trainers (if you don't mind soggy feet), are recommended. Please bring a packed lunch and water!

Parking: There is free parking available along the street at Lime Crescent.

All equipment provided. We have a small number of waterproof jackets available to borrow. If you would like one, please email [email protected] and we will bring one along for you.

This event will be weather dependant. If we need to cancel, we will notify all attendees on the morning of the event via email. Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for the weather.

If you can no longer attend the event, please let us know so we can give the places to others. You can do this by cancelling your ticket, or sending us an email. This helps us keep track of who to expect, and whether we need to wait for anyone who is running late.
