Understanding your intellectual property and how you can protect it is important for businesses and creators.

This session will explain two most common ways of protecting your business through understanding copyright and registering trade marks.

In this session, you’ll:

• Discover what copyright is, how it protects your work, and how long it lasts, as well as using the work of others.

• Understand the benefits of trade marks and how they can protect your brand

• Find out what can and can’t be registered as a trade mark

• Learn how to search for existing trade marks

• Understand how to ensure you’re not infringing on anyone else’s trade mark or copyright.

This session will be delivered by the BIPC Leeds team.
