Prop Making for the Stage: A Hands-On Workshop

PLEASE NOTE: This is a two-day workshop running August 9 from 10am to 4pm and August 16 from 10am to 2pm. Participants are expected to attend both days.

What would Romeo and Juliet be like on the stage without fancy swords? What would Hamlet be like without Yorick's skull? What would Frankenstein be like without vital organs?

Thanks to prop-makers working hard behind the scenes, these are questions we'll never have to answer. Driven by their core belief—if it’s not fun, we’re not doing it—the talented team of Sarah Winn and Lisa Spence will walk you through the fascinating world of prop-making, step by step. You'll learn how to make a bowl of fruit out of papier-mâché that looks good enough to eat. Or a cake. Or a pie. Or half a roast chicken. Or Yorick's skull. Use your imagination. It's a hands-on workshop, so be prepared to get messy. And expect to have fun. All materials are included.
