Join Youth for Troops in supporting veterans. On the 3rd Tuesday of each month, volunteers will work on various projects to support veterans including plastic mats for homeless veterans, care bags for homeless or at-risk veterans, move-in baskets for veterans transitioning from homelessness to apartments, and craft projects for local veteran homes. Volunteer help by sorting and cutting plastic bags and making plarn balls. The balls are made into mats and distributed to homeless veterans across the state. Volunteers will also work on other projects that support veterans. These are free service projects and all ages are welcome to join. Bring your family, your neighbors, or your small group and enjoy good conversations while helping those in need. A special thank you to Lerner & Rowe Gives Back for sponsoring monthly veteran projects this year.
You do not need to know how to crochet to help with this project--sorting and cutting are big parts of this project!
Bags can be dropped off at the Anthem Community Center and the Anthem Civic Building. Flattened bags and cut strips are greatly appreciated!
