Pour célébrer fièrement notre 250e samedi consécutif de manifestation pour sauver la forêt Fairview, nous sommes ravis de vous dire que nous avons organisé une projection de 'Forêts Urbaines', un film réalisé par Anne-Marie Rocher!
Comment notre lien avec la nature a-t-il évolué avec l’urbanisation galopante? Depuis des décennies, les espaces verts sont laissés pour compte dans les zones urbaines, le béton dominant de plus en plus de quartiers, surtout les moins favorisés. Cependant, cette situation met en lumière l’importance
croissante de réintégrer la nature en ville pour faire face aux défis climatiques. Pour ces raisons,il y a des liens clairs et étroits avec l'importance de la forêt Fairview dans notre propre communauté.
Tout le monde est le bienvenu à cet événement ! Venez avec vos amis, votre famille, vos voisins et invitez vos élus et candidat.e.s ! Les portes ouvrent à 18 h 45 et le film commence à 19 h. La projection sera suivie d'une brève discussion sur les similitudes avec notre combat pour protéger la forêt Fairview. Le documentaire est bilingue, avec des sous-titres en français ou en anglais selon la langue parlée. Des boissons et des collations seront servies. Le don suggéré est de 5 $.

In proud celebration of our 250th consecutive Saturday protest to save Fairview Forest, we are excited to announce that we will be hosting a screening of Urban Forests, a film directed by Anne-Marie Rocher!
This feature-length documentary examines how rampant urbanization has changed our relationships to nature. For decades, green spaces have been neglected in urban areas, with the “hardscapes” of concrete taking over more and more neighbourhoods, especially less affluent ones. That reality underscores the growing importance of protecting nature into our cities to tackle the challenges of the climate crisis. For these reasons, there are clear and close ties to the importance of Fairview Forest in our own community.
All are welcome to this event! Bring your friends, family, neighbours and invite your elected officials and candidates! The doors open at 6:45 pm and the film will start at 7pm and we will close the screening with a short discussion about the similarities with our fight to protect Fairview Forest. The documentary is bilingual with subtitles in French or English depending on the language being spoken. Drinks and snacks will be served. The suggested donation is 5$.
