Project Weber/RENEW - OPC Tour

Join SEAC for a tour of an Overdose Prevention Center in Providence RI - free roundtrip travel provided!

The evidence behind Overdose Prevention Centers (OPC) and their ability to battle the opioid epidemic and fatal drug usage points towards its effectiveness, and they are growing support in many cities. We are looking to learn more about this holistic option explore its possibilities.

One of SEAC's Pillars of Focus is the health, safety, and sustainability of our neighborhoods and communities. Based on conversations and observations we are concerned for not only our neighborhoods regarding opioid abuse and death, but how we can tangibly provide supportive services. As such, SEAC has been organizing a tour of a safe injection site located in Providence, RI by connecting with Project Weber/RENEW which has been on the forefront of this crucial work in their city. As a community stakeholder and representative of your field, we'd love for you to join and learn with us directly from the staffers of Project Weber. More specific details on travel logistics will come soon - please RSVP by January 25th as there is limited seating.

Bus Charter - 2/6, 1am (please arrive by 12:40am), 90 Fairport Rd, East Rochester (St. John Fisher/Pittsford Township Park and Ride - Link Here for Details, otherwise a convenient drop-off/pick-up for the charter bus)

Tour Date - 2/6, 8:45am, 45 Willard Ave - Providence RI

You are welcome to arrange your own travel and accomodations as convenient, but SEAC has chartered a free roundtrip bus for all participants. Please let Nick Wilbur ([email protected]) know how you are inclined so that we can have an accurate headcount for our travel arrangements and our tour hosts.
