About this Event
Empowering youth by teaching principles of food and nutrition, simple kitchen principles, and building confidence and self-esteem with Registered Dietitians and Social Workers. Registration is $100. For ages 10-15.
Project Thrive is created by Registered Dietitians and Social Workers. To find out if your insurance provider covers for Registered Dietitians and Registered Social Worker services, please check with your benefits provider.
Participants will:
- Enhance their nutritional knowledge while debunking common food myths and challenge their understanding of what is a healthy meal and snack
- Foster healthy eating habits by discussing basic kitchen principles such as meal planning and share easy meal prep tips
- Develop a positive relationship with food and themselves through a non-dieting lens and exposing diet culture in social media and advertisements
- Learn the benefits of self-care and mindfulness with hands-on activities
Adolescents are exposed to messages each day that influence their decisions on how to eat and look at their bodies. Project Thrive will equip them to foster healthier relationships with themselves and others, becoming positive role models & healthy eating advocates among their peers.
